It’s been a while since I’ve participated in the Weekly Photo Challenge.
It’s definitely time!
This week’s theme, Perspective, challenges us to share a photo where a portion of the image presents one perspective, and a wider angle gives a different perspective.
I browsed the family gallery and came across an image which was taken last year during mother’s birthday celebration.
It appears several family members are looking out a window.
Even though the image is a bit fuzzy I can see images of my brothers, sisters and sisters-in-law.
Everyone seems to be very focused on something,
but
what could possibly be capturing their attention?
Well, when you zoom out
it’s easy to see they weren’t looking out a window at all!
Their reflections show they were trying to get everyone to look in the same direction for a different photo altogether!
My parents are posing with all their great-grandchildren, and, with one grandchild who’s hidden away while propping up a little one!
Everyone else is either taking pictures, or, coaxing their youngsters to “sit up tall, look straight ahead and smile!”
If you were to ask someone to count the family members in the photo, it’s likely they’d count my parents and all the little ones. They may even count my (mostly hidden) nephew.
But would they count all the reflections?
The intent was to capture the youngest generation with the “the most mature” generation in our family.
If you include the reflections in the window and my nephew, this is really a picture with four generations!
My family is close-knit and vibrant…and it shows with this perspective!

Very creative and awesome perspective. I wouldn’t have really paid attention to those in the background reflection if it hadn’t been focused on.
Hi asword684! I enjoyed putting this together as the photo is surprising! I wan’t at this gathering but I could picture all my family members trying organize the kids for this shot…so I also find the reflected image very amusing! Thanks for your comment, and, for stopping by my site! 🙂

oh wow, great grand children! That is awesome! Lovely picture, beautifully captured.
HI Aian! It’s an amazing thing to see especially when they’re altogether! I’m very grateful my parents are healthy and strong enough able to enjoy them. I appreciate the delight in their faces! Thanks for stopping by my site! 🙂

Getting that many youngsters to sit for a photo is an amazing thing in itself! But your family? Now that’s amazing! Cool!
Hi Gemma! LOL – Yeah…I wonder how long it took,..and how many times they tried getting the shot! I also have a feeling that there were a few people snapping photos! They probably compared them all to find the final take! 😀
Thanks, as always, for stopping by!
This is such a perfect photo – great job! and what a lovely large family.
Thanks, Patty! No surprise that it’s a family favorite! 😀
