Geometry – A Bit of Alaska

In looking through family photos I came across a file called “A Bit of Alaska.”

I felt the photos truly capture the spirit of the Weekly Photo Challenge “Geometry.”

In 2005, my brother Raul and his wife Stacy celebrated their tenth wedding anniversary.

In his words, “It was a northbound inside passage trip out of Vancouver. We stopped at Ketchikan, Skagway, Juneau, college glaciers, Sitka and Anchorage.”

They traveled a second time in 2007, along with my parents and a few other family members.  He shared that in “this trip we also took a train to Denali for a few days and then up to Fairbanks.”

Raul and Stacy celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary with a bit of Alaska.

I was amazed by the natural beauty…

A bit of Alaska

The images of glaciers dissecting the landscape…

Alaskan Glacier

The moon and lights, glowing orbs in the night…

Alaska Night Sky

The blue angle upon angle of the land against the sea…

Angles of blue. Alaskan land, sea and sky.

Pillars of ice jutting forth in all dimensions…

Alaskan Grandeur

Graceful perpendicular lines…

Lines of the Alaskan Sea.

Trees looking like miniature triangles against the massive glacial formation…

The Foot of Alaska's Glacier.

Sliced spheres of ice…

Spheres of Ice.

Alaska’s breathtaking geometry.

Stacy and the majesty of Alaska.

About

I've always enjoyed writing and finally decided it was time to blog! As part of my profession I write every day, but I'm now trying to take the time to write creatively. My family and friends have been very encouraging as there is little that is written down in the way of a family chronicle. This is a favorite topic of mine! In addition to family history, I write about life, family, friends and faith. My husband is a full-time parent to our special needs daughter. I’ve explored this topic, too. I also enjoy music, crocheting, reading and relaxing with my family. I hope you enjoy what I have to offer!
